Sojourner Truth. Born into slavery in New York State as Isabella Baumfree, she is best known for her speech, "Ain't I A Woman?", but there is much more to her than that one speech. She escaped to freedom in 1826 with her infant daughter. Now get this. In 1828, she sued a white man for the freedom of her son AND WON! This woman was, well, the truth.
