Fannie Lou Hamer. Voting and women’s rights activist, community organizer and an often unsung leader of the civil rights movement. She was the co-founder of the Freedom Democratic Party, which she represented at the 1964 Democratic National Convention. Her most repeated quote is “I’m sick and tired of being sick and tired.”
