Nina Simone
Eunice Kathleen Waymon was born of February 21, 1933 in Tryon, NC. Nina, a child prodigy started playing the piano at the age of three. She had dreams of becoming a classical pianist but was denied access to the school of her dreams.
Known professionally as Nina Simone, was an American singer, songwriter, musician, arranger, and civil rights activist. Her music spanned a broad range of musical styles including classical, jazz, blues, folk, R&B, gospel, and pop.
